Manish Arora the Maximalist
Manish Arora the Maximalist
The Maximalist is a documentary short created to celebrate the work of Manish Arora, with a strong emphasis on his Indian heritage, color language, and bold visual identity. The piece was created to accompany Arora’s exhibition at SCAD FASH.
For this project, I illustrated and animated the title sequence, designed and animated the graphic system, and developed stylized motion montages that brought together archival runway footage, fashion photography, and graphic elements into a cohesive visual experience. The motion language was inspired by Arora’s maximalist approach, translating texture, color, and rhythm into movement while maintaining clarity and intentional pacing.
I collaborated closely with editor Danielle Navish to integrate motion design with the editorial structure, ensuring the graphics and video montages worked together seamlessly. The project was completed under the art direction of Nat Emmet, whose creative oversight helped shape the overall direction while allowing space for expressive exploration within the visual system.
